So what exactly is "JUICING"?

Juicing is the process of using a juicer of your choice, to create fresh juices using only fresh fruit and vegetables. You can find a juicer in almost any of your local stores like Walmart, Target, Sam's, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc., or even online. We decided on the trying out one of the juicers that Joe recommends on his website, the Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain Plus 850-Watt Juice Extractor.

We are so happy that we chose this particular juicer because not only is it so easy to clean and maintain, but it also didn't cost an arm and a leg. It's a decent price for a great product that works amazing!

You can find a list of recommended juicers on Joe's Website.

Juicing is a great way to consume a healthy amount of nutrients that your body lacks. "By juicing you can help regain or sustain your vitality, introduce more healthy habits, and lose weight."-rebootwithjoe.com Juicing is also known to help improve health issues like high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, migraines, etc. Juicing helps you get a faster, more efficient way of absorbing nutrients that can boost up your immune system.

"How does it work? Juicing removes the insoluble fiber from vegetables and fruits. While fiber is an established, important part of an overall healthy diet, removing the insoluble fiber allows for increased absorption of specific health promoting phytonutrients including enzymes, while the soluble fiber persists into the juice.  By removing the fibers and consuming fruits and vegetables in liquid form, we are providing a nutrient delivery system to our bodies that allows individuals who would otherwise have difficulty consuming whole vegetables, the opportunity to reap the numerous benefits vegetables have to offer." - rebootwithjoe.com

Most people do not include the right amount of healthy nutrients in their diet. I know that we definitely did not. It's not because we couldn't do it, it's because we didn't always care to pay attention to what we were putting in our mouth. Don't get me wrong, we don't eat McDonald's every day or anything like that, but we definitely were not eating salads, fresh fruits and vegetables enough. Living in New Orleans makes it very hard to turn down all the great food that surrounds this beautiful and cultured city. New Orleans has an abundance of unique, and delicious restaurants that consists of such a great variety of different types of food. Temptation is always around us. Going out eating, drinking, and partying is a big part of the lifestyle we have, living here. That's just how life is in this city, and I love it! But it was time for change... time to take control and take action to better our health!
